Valley Catholic School Choirs
Concert Choir
The Concert Choir is a zero period un-auditioned mixed choir for freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors open to anyone who enrolls. This ensemble strives to create meaningful musical experiences by performing a varied repertoire of music from multiple time periods, styles, cultures, and genres. The Concert Choir presents at least one major concert per semester, performs at Open House, and occasionally performs at additional events on- and off-campus. The Concert Choir competes in
the OSAA choir competition every year during second semester.
Es Ist Ein Ros entsprungen (Lo, how a Rose E'er Blooming)- A German Christmas carol about finding beauty in the winter. Written by Michael Praetorious.
Messiah (Hallelujah)- A well-known oratorio written by George Frederick Handel.
The Storm is Passing Over- A traditional African American gospel song about perseverance through trouble and strife. Arranged by Barbara W. Baker.
Ukuthula- A traditional South African chorale about peace in our world of sin. Arranged by Markus Schlaf.
