About Us

The VC Choral Department believes that every human being needs and deserves a first-hand experience in learning
and creating music. We are committed to providing challenging and diverse musical experiences that are available
to everyone. Students who are an active part of our choral program will develop music literary skills, healthy
singing technique, and a global perspective about music. We believe strongly that choir helps people develop
healthy self-esteem, emotional intelligence, improved self-discipline, a positive work ethic, and empathy for
others. Students who engage with music deeply and mindfully will see end experience the immense benefits a
musical education can bring to their lives.

The Valley Catholic Choral community celebrates the creation of music with two annual performances- A Christmas concert in early December and a Spring concert in early May. Each choir also performs outside of school and concerts throughout the year- The Grotto, Downtown Portland, and the Cowapa League Festival only being a few of many. Both High School and Middle School Choirs compete in District competitions, while the High School's Select Choir competes in annual competitions for Small Vocal Ensembles. Single students in every choir can also participate in one of two solo choral competitions- The OSAA and NaFME District solo competitions.

Joining one (or many) of Valley Catholic's choirs is an insightful and fun experience you will never forget!
